Family Violence can be prevented.  Accessing reliable information is often the first step towards understanding and getting help. The internet offers valuable resources for victims, offenders, family members and friends as well as for employers and professionals working to help stop this serious problem.There are also many excellent books available dealing with the issue of family violence.  This resources section offers a suggested sampling of web sites and books that can be tools that  make a positive difference.

 

The Family Violence Project of Waterloo Region hosted the provincial "Communities Working Together to End Violence Against Women" conference in February 2008. Funded by the Government of Ontario, this conference brought together many key players from multiple sectors to work collaboratively to find ways to prevent violence against women.
